How BioMech compares

BioMech is an AI-powered bodybuilding and fitness platform that builds personalised workout and nutrition plans from validated metabolic equations, with every meal solved to your calorie and macro targets. Here is how it compares to the other ways people get a plan.

BioMech vs other ways to get a meal plan

Macro-tracking apps
A calorie and macro target, then you log what you eat.
BioMech: Targets plus the actual meals: every food, gram amount and household measure is worked out for you, and portions re-balance when you swap a food.
Meal-plan generators
Recipes that roughly match a calorie number.
BioMech: Plans solved to your protein, carb and fat targets (not just calories), checked after every change, with the actual totals shown if a target can't be met.
Asking ChatGPT for a meal plan
A plausible-looking plan whose numbers are estimated by the model and often don't add up.
BioMech: AI only picks foods from a curated USDA-based list; all calorie and macro maths is done by deterministic equations and an optimiser.
Personal trainer software
Tools for a human coach to write and deliver your program.
BioMech: Training and nutrition generated for you, no coach required — see the platform comparison below.

Why BioMech is Different

Clinically validated RMR equations

BioMech automatically selects the resting-energy equation that fits you: the Cunningham equation for bodybuilders and powerlifters with body composition data, a fat-free-mass based equation for recreational and endurance athletes, and Mifflin–St Jeor when body fat is unknown. See the methodology page for every formula.

Navy Method body fat estimation

Circumference-based body fat calculation (U.S. Navy Method) is built directly into the check-in flow, feeding real body composition data into the metabolic engine rather than relying on rough estimates.

Fully generative AI workout plans

Every workout plan is generated fresh by a large language model constrained by hard programming rules: RIR targets, weekly volume ranges per muscle group, split enforcement, equipment filtering, and injury exclusions. Users can choose their preferred split (PPL, Upper/Lower, Arnold, Bro Split, Full Body).

Meals solved to your macros

Every gram is calculated by an optimiser that solves the whole day against your calorie, protein, carb and fat targets with realistic portions. Three rotating days, one-tap food swaps that re-balance the day, and household measures alongside grams.

Real food database — not generic macros

Nutrition plans are assembled from a curated, calorie-verified food database with per-item fat-placement rules (cooking fats, snack fats, no fat in post-workout), not generic macro targets. Excluded and force-included foods are honoured at the dataset level before the AI ever sees the prompt.

Gender-adaptive design

The entire UI, RMR selection logic, Navy Method formula, and programming style adapt to the user's sex. Female clients get a gold accent theme, hip measurement inclusion, and the female-specific Navy formula automatically.

No ongoing coach required

BioMech gives individuals who train without a personal trainer access to the same level of evidence-based programming that would otherwise cost hundreds of dollars per month from a qualified coach.

Who BioMech is For

BioMech is built for individuals — bodybuilders, powerlifters, recreational athletes, and gym-goers — who want evidence-based training and nutrition without paying for a personal trainer. It is not a coach management platform. It is the AI coach itself: generating periodised workout splits, calculating TDEE from validated metabolic equations, assembling meal plans from a verified food database, and tracking body composition over time through the Navy Method and weekly check-ins.
